About us
The name 'Samawa' comes from the Swahili word 'samawati,' meaning the expansive blue of the African sky and the vibrant turquoise of Zanzibar's ocean waters. This word encapsulates the unspoiled, tropical charm of the island that captivated us from the moment we arrived.
Situated inland in the south-eastern part of the island, Samawa features 30 rooms surrounded by swaying palm trees and offers a vibrant and tranquil base to explore the island's famous beaches, historic Stone Town, water sports, and bustling local markets.
